ARTICLE I - NAME OF ORGANIZATION
The name of this organization is Pakistani Students' Association. This organization will utilize the acronym PSA in all publicity materials and correspondence. The Pakistani Students' Association is affiliated with Volunteers for International Student Affairs (VISA). The PSA website is http://www.ufpsa.com/.
ARTICLE II - PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Pakistani Students' Association is established to bring together all students who are interested in Pakistan and to foster a better understanding of the culture through community based projects and the celebration of various social and cultural activities.
ARTICLE III - COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
Upon approval by the Center for Student Activities and Involvement, Pakistani Students' Association shall be a registered student organization at the University of Florida. Pakistani Students' Association shall comply with all local, state and federal laws, as well as all University of Florida regulations, policies, and procedures. Such compliance includes but is not limited to the University's regulations related to Non-Discrimination, Hazing, Commercial Activity, and Student Leader Eligibility.
ARTICLE IV - NON-DISCRIMINATION
In compliance with the University of Florida Non-Discrimination Policy (Regulation 6C1-1.006), Pakistani Students' Association will not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, political opinions or affiliations, and veteran status as protected under the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act.
ARTICLE V - MEMBERSHIP
Membership in this organization is open to enrolled students at the University of Florida. Non-students, spouses, faculty, and staff may be associate members; however, they may not run for office. All members and associate members are free to leave and disassociate without fear of retribution, retaliation, or harassment.
ARTICLE VI - OFFICERS
Section A: The elected officers of Pakistani Students ‘ Association shall be President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations and Historian.
Part 1: The President shall:
* - chair executive board and general body meetings
* - be responsible for PSA activities and represent PSA at campus events
* - oversee participation in community service projects and campus activities
* - coordinate the work of the officers and committees and appoint members to perform specific tasks

Part 2: The Vice-President shall:
* - serve as an aide to the President and perform his/her duties in his/her absence or inability to serve
* - chair Executive Board meetings in the President's absence
* - be required to represent PSA at campus events in the President's absence
* - be required to work with the President in the coordination of campus activities and community service projects

Part 3: The Treasurer shall:
* -receive all monies of Pakistani Students' Association and keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures
* -be responsible for submitting the proper forms to VISA (Volunteers for International Student Affairs) for the allocation of PSA funds for projects
* -shall pay out funds in accordance with the approved budget as authorized by the organization
* -present a financial statement at every executive board meeting of Pakistani Students' Association and at other times when requested
* -work with officers to coordinate fundraising activities
* -be responsible for submitting the proper forms to VISA (Volunteers for International Student Affairs) for the allocation of PSA funds for projects
* -shall pay out funds in accordance with the approved budget as authorized by the organization
* -present a financial statement at every executive board meeting of Pakistani Students' Association and at other times when requested

Part 4: The Secretary shall:
* - record the minutes of all meetings and provide typed copies for board members
* - deal with all correspondence (i.e.: incoming and outgoing mail/e-mail)
* - responsible for making reservations and obtaining permits for tabling etc.
* - maintain a current list of phone numbers of all active members.

Part 5: The Public Relations Officer/Webmaster shall:
* - promote PSA and its events on and off campus
* - table and recruiting new members
* - publicize club fund-raising activities

Part 6: The Historian shall:
* - make posters for tabling and other events
* - provide copies upon request of all photographs
* - post pictures from all Pakistani Students' Association events onto the Pakistani Students' Association website.

Section B: Officers shall assume their official duties at the close of the last general meeting of the academic year and shall serve for a term of one academic year and/or until their successors are elected.
Section C: Any officer of Pakistani Students' Association may be removed from office through the following process:
Part 1: A written request by at least five voting members of the organization shall be submitted to either the President, Vice President, or Treasurer. Written notification shall be sent to the officer in question asking that officer to be present at the next meeting and prepared to respond to the removal request.
Part 2: A two thirds majority vote of members present is necessary to remove the officer.
Part 3: In the event of the removal of an officer, a special provision may be granted to the remaining officers to appoint an interim replacement until an election may be held.
ARTICLE VII - ELECTIONS
Section A: Nominations for all officers will take place annually from the members at the last general meeting in March. Any member may nominate any other voting member, including him or herself. Nominations must be received by 12:00 pm the day of the election.
Section B:
Part 1: Voting will occur by secret ballot and a simple majority vote is required to elect an officer. In the event of a tie, the neutral presiding officer shall rule over the vote.
Part 2: President & Vice President should count the votes unless one of them is running for a position.
Section C: Only an individual who has been present at one general body meetings and two event from the past year may run for office or be considered an active member for voting purposes.
Section D: Nominees must have been active both fall and spring semesters (at least one meeting or one event from each semester).
Section E: In the event of an election dispute, re-elections may be held.
Section F:
Part 1: In the event that an Executive Board member is unable to complete his/her term, a resignation letter should be submitted to the Executive Board two weeks prior to his/her leaving.
Part 2: In the event that an Executive Board member is unable to complete his/her term, elections will be held (same nomination procedures apply) and another member from the general assembly will be chosen as replacement.
ARTICLE VII - FACULTY ADVISOR
Section A: The faculty advisor shall serve as a resource person and provide advisory support for the officers and members of the organization.
Section B: The faculty advisor may not vote in any Pakistani Students' Association matters.
Section C: The faculty advisor shall be nominated by the officers and confirmed by a majority vote of the members.
ARTICLE IX - FINANCE
Section A: Pakistani Students Association will not require membership dues; however, it will raise funds through carwashes and similar activities to be utilized towards recruiting speakers and organizing various activities.
Section B: Members are expected to participate in these fundraising activities.
Section C: Pakistani Students Association will apply for Student Government funding.
ARTICLE X - DISSOLUTION OF ORGANIZATION
In the event this organization dissolves, all monies left in the treasury, after outstanding debts and claims have been paid, shall be donated to "Zindagi Trust."
ARTICLE XI - AMENDMENTS TO CONSTITUTION
Section 1: Any proposal of amendments must be submitted in written form to the Executive Board
Section 2: All amendments must be approved by the Executive Board and then approved by a 2/3 vote of the General Body.
Section 3: Amendments shall be subject to approval of the Center for Student Activities and Involvement.
